The Third Annual Indian Breast Cancer Survivors Conference 2014 was a tremendous success with over 250 survivors, health care providers in attendance. The Nag Foundation, Pune and Women Cancer Initiative, Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai were the force behind the conference.
The success of the conference lies in the fact that it was organized by the survivor’s members of the Breast Friend Support Group, which increased the impact of the conference.
The survivors were also instrumental in creating handmade gift baskets as mementoes for all our speakers and panellists.
A cancer Awareness walk in association with ‘Globeathon International ’ a 1.5 km "walk for Cancer" was a part of the conference arranged with an objective to spread awareness about breast cancer, and to show our support and solidarity to our cancer survivors and patients who will be the integral part of the There were more than a 1000 people to participate in this inspiring walk . Besides our many survivors, there were students, doctors, caregivers, social groups, Corporates and NGO's offering their support by walking this route for the cause.
The walk was organised on the famous M.G. Road which is Pune’s main shopping street Survivors from Pune, Mumbai, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad and Goa attended the conference.
